Emma Fleming-Ruse is a producer, director and theatre-maker based in Musselburgh, East Lothian.

 

They recently founded Long Story Short, one of Scotland's newest producing companies focusing on high-quality, audience driven work. They are also co-founder and CEO of Framework Theatre Company, Scotland’s Support Organisation for early-career theatre-makers.

 

As well as producing for artists including Hannah Low, Jess Brodie and Sarah Farrell they have worked with companies including Traverse Theatre, Wonder Fools, Perth Theatre and Stellar Quines. In 2022 they received a bursary from Creative Scotland to attend the Common Purpose Emerging Leaders Programme. In 2024 they were selected for Young Women Scot’s 30 Under 30 list.
